DESCRIPTION

To transition our annual walk event to a social distancing-friendly one, we’ve implemented the Community Champions program: people who would usually be helping out at the walk on the day of the event are now going to be our Champions in spreading the word! As a community champion you will Invite people to be part of the event, Share the event within your community and networks and Mobilize others to make Walk the Block a success by sharing your plans, thinking up creative ideas on how to tell others about the event and encouraging people to communicate online!

Community Champion roles/responsibilities:
-Spread the word in your circles and around your community to raise awareness about the walk
-Share social media posts and other advertising resources created by the marketing team
-Inform those in your community who are participating in the walk by providing updates, answering questions, and acting as a contact person for those who register
-Create new ways to spread the word about the event

In addition, community champion leads will have a leadership role among the volunteers and will keep them updated and motivated. They will also track what community champions have accomplished and their plans for getting their community involved.
