As everyone knows, COVID-19 has changed our lives. One of the biggest changes for most people, and likely the hardest, is having to keep physical distance from those we love. I've seen lots of posts of people visiting friends and loved ones from their porches- that's how I've been visiting my mom and friends as well. But others aren't so lucky. Some people aren't able to leave their houses to visit loved ones, or are in nursing facilities where they aren't able to leave their rooms or accept visitors due to the precautions.
For some people, this physical distancing is brutal, and brings with it unbearable loneliness, anxiety, and a severe lacking of social connection or support. I've started a volunteer program to combat exactly this. By visiting people in need over Zoom, or Skype, or phone calls, I'm hoping that as a community we can come together to virtually visit those who are in need of a friendly face, or a phone call.
