DESCRIPTION

HWF is looking to expand it's services to respond to the increased demand brought on by the arrival of our new neighbours from Syria. Thus the start of project HWF613. Our volunteers range from 14 to 88 so everyone is welcome to apply. We have many opportunities. We are looking specifically for a board Secretary, a Volunteer Coordinator and 3 assistants, 2 website assistants, 2 marketing assistants. 2 warehouse managers, 12 warehouse furniture bundlers, 8-12 bundlers to bundle kitchen wares, linens, toys and household wares (i.e. lamps, electronics, decor), 2 furniture intake volunteers can be done from home, 8 set up team Volunteers, We are always looking for movers to move items in the Families homes and help pickup from donators. Some of those positions can be done from home, others have to be done at our location (East end Ottawa) Commitment time is different for each positions but most only require 3-4 hours a week. This is an awesome opportunity to be part of our team as our small organization makes a huge leap to help our new government in this historical moment. Helping With Furniture redistributes the furniture and furnishings to individuals and families who have been internationally and domestically displaced due to situations of hardship, and who lack the means to buy these items.
