  • We have relaxed criteria for posting volunteer opportunities due to the urgent need for COVID-19 Response. Volunteers are responsible for confirming the legitimacy of the group or organization(s) they are working with. Never hand over money or confidential information to groups looking for volunteers.
  • Please confirm that the organization you want to volunteer with can ensure your safety.

DESCRIPTION

  • Volunteers for our English Conversation Circles to support newcomers in improving their conversation skills
  • Volunteers for social mentorship program, providing one on one support to newcomers facing social isolation 
  • Volunteers for Citizenship Preparation classes to support the learning of the Citizenship booklet 
  • Volunteers to provide tutoring support for students in the Language Instructions for Newcomers classes
  • All  volunteer activities will be on online using Zoom and other online platforms


Required languages

  •  English

Minimum age

 18 years and older

Minimum hours per week

 2 hours

Task requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills,
  • Good listening skills
  • Computer skills, if volunteering to teach basic computer skills

Accessibility

Some locations are not wheelchair accessible
