Volunteer Engagement & Recruitment Coordinator Leader

DESCRIPTION

Our startup is based in Toronto, and as we continue growing, we will cater to communities and organizations all across Canada. “By volunteers for volunteers” is a theme underlining our Volunteer Department.

Expectations
The Coordinator will need to:
• Work closely with both the executive director and senior volunteers to manage and engage in all elements of volunteering from promoting, selecting/recruiting, interviewing, training, supporting, recognizing, supervising and evaluating the volunteer staff of the organization.
• Ensure volunteers are provided with the on-going support and training to become productive team members.
• Ability to set up and put into place a Volunteer Engagement system.
• To ensure an organization has enough volunteers to fulfil its service mission and plan for future needs.
• Professionally respond to volunteer candidates by email and phone using customer service best practices and other tools.
• Recommending best-fit volunteer roles and redirecting inquiries to suitable teams and areas.
• To help build and then lead the Volunteer Success teams

Qualifications
The ideal candidate has:
• Proven ability to set up and put into place a Volunteer Engagement system.
• Demonstrated skills in Volunteer Engagement experience with recruitment, screening and placement experience. Educational background in HR/Volunteer Engagement is an asset.
• Excellent computer skills and has a willingness to learn new ones. The candidate is highly proficient with email, web browsers and MS Office Suite.
• Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written and an excellent command of spoken and written English
• Detail oriented, organized, and focused.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, well organized and responsive to timely needs and opportunities.

Time Commitment
• Minimum 6-month commitment
• 5-10 hours per week
• Scheduling is flexible - weekdays, weekends and nights
