DESCRIPTION

 

Located in Downtown Toronto (5 minutes from Bay/Bloor), Belmont House is a charitable, non-profit, Christian home for seniors offering long term care, retirement living and apartments. For 165 years we have provided quality care to our residents in a safe and stimulating home environment.   Belmont House values respect, caring, innovation, teamwork, excellence and responsiveness.  We are currently seeking a volunteer in the capacity of Tuck Shop Representative. 

 

Goal of Position:

To look after the business of the tuck shop

Responsibilities:

To order and maintain stock and authorize the billings to the Tuck Shop account

To price all stock according to ?non-porfit? guidelines

Responsible and serve in ?tuck shop? and follow the schedule, check and record the cash balance before and after the daily service

Time Required:

Every Friday morning from 10:00am-12:00pm, from November 2019 to April 2020.

Qualifications:

Must be sensitive to resident(s) and their feelings of ?ownership? of their shop

Patience to cater to the ideas and preferences of over 300 residents

Good communication skills, friendly, relaxed manner, good sense of humour, enthusiasm, commitment

Good organizational skills and record keeping

General orientation to Belmont House

Specific orientation for Volunteer Department

Specific on-the- job training

Education/Training required:

Effort:

Require long-period of standing

May required to mark and arrange stock on shelves after it is delivered to the shop
