The Toronto Botanical Garden (TBG)is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization based in North York (corner of Leslie and Lawrence). Our mission is to connect people to plants, inspiring us to live in harmony with nature. Our vision is to be renowned for our display of nature's beauty and as dynamic hub for plant centred learning, conservation and research.
This is a roving, on your feet, outdoors in our gardens role.
As a TBG Garden Ambassador you will be out in our gardens on hand to greet visitors warmly, offer assistance, information, and education.
A summary of Garden Ambassador activities ? these are a choice, depending on your own interest and preference and those of the visitors you encounter:
Full training on all the information you need will be provided and you can then enjoy sharing your knowledge with others.
Skills required: an outgoing personality, good communication skills (listening as well as speaking,) knowledge of and enthusiasm for TBG, an interest in learning and then conveying that knowledge to others, a winning smile, comfort with an active, on-your-feet outdoors role for a 3-hour shift, able to connect with people with ease and be responsive without being overwhelming.
French/other language is an asset

Minimum hours per week:
3hrs / day weekends and Thursdays
