Volunteers will be responsible for visiting one client on a weekly basis for 1 hour, with the purpose of providing companionship and socializing. Some activities that are usually arranged during the 1 hour visit include playing cards, watching movies, talking about different things, cooking a small meal, etc. Volunteers are matched with their client based on availability and compatibility of personality and interests. The volunteers will develop a caring relationship with the client; will treat all information gained from client as confidential; will maintain telephone contact with the client between visits if desired; and are responsible for calling and rescheduling with the client if unable to make their visit.
