Role logistics

Location:           840 Coxwell Avenue, Suite 303

Time and Day:  Thursdays 10:00 to 12:00 or Fridays 1:30 to 3:30

Length of role:  Ongoing, year-round (with a minimum 3 month commitment) with a September start-date.

Program Description:

The Active Living Centre offers a variety of wellness programs and enjoyable social activities including: fitness, crafts, discussion groups, computer classes, day trips and outings, weekly dining and the monthly Diners Club, a men's club, annual fund raising events, income tax clinics as well as access to foot care and blood pressure clinics run by a registered nurse.
The Active Living Centre publishes a monthly calendar of events. We invite you to call the Centre to inquire about the programs.

Role Description:

We are seeking a volunteer who can help the seniors in our Active Learning Centre learn French.  This would be a conversational class, and is at a beginner level.  The concentration would be on speaking the language vs. writing it.

  • You will be facilitating small group classes and encouraging conversation and learning.

  • We are seeking someone who is patient, kind and willing to work with various skill levels and abilities.

Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience

  • Fluent in both French and English
