Role logistics

Location:            650 Queen Street East

Time and Day:   Weekly, morning or afternoon

Length of role:   Minimum 3 month commitment

 

Program Description:  WoodGreen's Drop-in Centre runs a range of activities that the group members decide on. Groups include women's beading/jewelry making, a guitar workshop, games, meals and a pet food bank. WoodGreen strives to offer meaningful, therapeutic, holistic programming to clients who may be facing mental health/addiction issues or those who are street involved.

Role Description:

We're seeking a fun, outgoing and friendly volunteer with great communication skills to help facilitate a weekly art group.

Role Description:

•        Facilitates/leads program and engages participants.

•        Sets up program area.

•        Helps with program evaluation.

Qualifications:

•       Must have group facilitation experience.

•       Comfortable with many different mediums - drawing, painting, sculpture etc.

•       Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

•       Ability to work with people in a professional, empathetic manner.

•       Effective verbal communication skills.

•       Good conflict resolution and problem solving skills.

•       Comfortable working with clients from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
