DESCRIPTION

National Service Dogs (NSD) is a registered charity based in Cambridge, ON Canada specializing in training Service Dogs for individuals with Autism, PTSD, Canine Assisted Intervention Dogs and Companion Dogs for a diverse group of clients.

Objective: Support a future Service Dog with transportation help. Our dogs are well-traveled and there are many times where our dogs need to catch a ride.

Reports to: Volunteer Coordinator

Location: (could include)
NSD Office (1286 Cedar Creek Rd., Cambridge)
Brantford
Guelph
Kitchener

Hours and Scope: The most common transportation needed will be supporting NSD University adult dogs to get to and from their Adult Raiser’s homes in Guelph, Kitchener, or Brantford to Cambridge. Shift options are available Monday - Thursday either 7am-8am or 4pm-5pm.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Transport dogs using a personal vehicle
Toilet dogs on leash when required
Communicate with staff and volunteers
Other tasks as required

Minimum Requirements:
Valid Drivers License
Reliable Vehicle

COVID-19 Safety Protocol
Minimal contact with other volunteers is required for this role. Masks are mandatory when social distancing is not possible at pick up and drop off. All activities are done with your personal car and outside.
