DESCRIPTION

Volunteering for Victim Services of Waterloo Region is challenging and demanding. Due to the sensitive nature of the services we offer, Crisis Responders must undergo an extensive screening and training process. Our 80 hours training program is extremely comprehensive which involves in-class and E-modules on-line. The topics include: Domestic Violence, Elder Abuse, Sexual Assault, Mental Health, the Criminal Justice System, Suicide, Crisis Intervention, Suicide etc.

Support Victim Services of Waterloo Region and become an On-Call Volunteer Crisis Responder. Volunteers assist victims of crime and tragic circumstances by providing crisis intervention, support, information and referrals. You must be 19 years old, willing to commit to a long-term volunteer position, in addition to having a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. Training starts Feb 2015.
