Program Description:

Celebrating its 80th anniversary, WoodGreen is a founding United Way of Toronto member agency and is one of the largest social service agencies in Toronto. WoodGreen helps seniors live independently, internationally-trained professionals enter the job market, parents access childcare, children and youth access after-school programs, newcomers settle in to Canadian life, homeless and marginalized people get off the streets and job-seekers find meaningful employment and training. WoodGreen offers more than 75 innovative programs to some of Toronto?s most marginalized communities.

Role Description:

WoodGreen is seeking 1 or 2 volunteers to act as community engagement volunteers.  Acting as ambassadors for WoodGreen, you will attend various community events to promote WoodGreen's programs, mission & values.  This role will be on an as-needed basis, with the probability of you attending roughly 10 events throughout the year.  The first event will be June the 27th for the Health & Wellness Fair hosted by St. Clair O'Connor Community Inc.  Training and materials will be provided.

 Qualifications:

  • Volunteers for this role should be friendly and outgoing and have some interest in community engagement and social services.

  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable speaking in public

  • Comfortable working with people from varied cultural & socio-economic backgrounds
