About Hope Air

Hope Air is a unique national charity that helps Canadians get to medical treatment when they cannot afford to pay for their flights. For many people, the cost of travelling to medical care presents a prohibitive financial challenge. Since 1986, we have proudly arranged more than 100,000 flights nationwide. We operate with a small staff, but are supported by a large complement of volunteers.


Reporting to the Client Care Director, the Client Care volunteer works on the front-line of what we do, interacting directly with clients, healthcare professionals and other interested parties to help Canadians in need access our flight service.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Entering flight requests in our database
  • Confirming healthcare appointments with hospitals and doctor?s offices
  • Providing clients with their flight information
  • Providing information about Hope Air's programs to clients, healthcare workers, social service agencies and others, and
  • Contributing to various projects as required, based on your skill set and the needs of our organization.


We seek the following skills in our volunteers:

  • Strong communication skills are a must
  • Bilingual (French/English) desirable but not essential
  • People-focused
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and working with databases
  • Team-oriented with proactive working style
  • Compassion and sensitivity to work with people in crisis.


     Hours are flexible, with a weekly shift of 3 hours.  We ask that you commit to volunteering for a minimum of 3 months.  Please note volunteering takes place in our office, conveniently located at Yonge and Davisville, anytime between 10am-7:30pm Monday-Friday.
