PRE – PANDEMIC. ADDICTION WAS ALREADY CARVING A BIG SWATH THROUGH ANY AND EVERY COMPANY BOTTOM LINE AND PROFITS.
Right now your company, organization and business -- CAN’T BANT.
Budget. Authority. Needs. Time. (BANT)
DISCUSSION IDEAS:
o To be used on an enterprise, department, agency, service, or corporation – wide basis.
o KEY DRIVING FORCE – I try and break ground with addiction – a 101, identification, virtual ZOOM meetings, seminars, webinars and possibly a workshop -- [that is approximately 70% already developed by me at the time of this writing] – each of which is understandable, attainable knowledge, and would have immediate buy-in from personnel, clients or both.
o Co-create and addiction recovery and maintenance platform.
o Creating activities for program administration, delivery, scheduling, and deliverables (Budget Authority Needs Time). BANT.
o Tracking activities, fortifying the momentum behind changing negative harmful behaviours.
ESTABLISH WHO THE CLIENT THAT MAY BE STRUGGLING WITH AN ADDICTION OR SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER IS:
o IDENTIFY/LIST THEIR CLIENTS and PARTNERS. IN THEORY, THEIR CLIENTS ARE NOW MY CLIENTS. [I WILL DISCUSS THIS A LITTLE MORE NEAR THE END OF THIS DOCUMENT].
ABSENTEEISM. PRESENTEEISM WILL USE OR ASSIST IN DEVELOPING:
o Peer support, organizational strategies/programs/existing personnel already in place, are keystones to building any initiatives successfully.
o LEVERAGE will be strengthened with valuable links toward therapeutic professionals and trusted community resources.

I am a retired law enforcement officer (border), and have recently shifted my focus, after finding recovery and successfully completing a college certificate in chemical dependency counselling. Everyone knows someone who may be struggling, addiction affects one in five people somehow. (The rate is even higher for first responders). Departments, agencies and organizations [including their HR professionals] need answers and attainable solutions when substance abuse/dependence has gained a stronghold with their leaders or employees. Families, friends and co-workers need hope. I offer as well the immediate benefits of education, prevention, intervention and training.
