Role logistics

Location:            989 Danforth Avenue

Time and Day:   Based on availability - Weekdays: 9:00 to 5:00

Length of role:   Minimum 3 month commitment

Program Description:

Every year, WoodGreen Community Services supports thousands of individuals who are unemployed or underemployed with their job search activities. We offer a range of friendly, personalized services, including one-on-one coaching, practical workshops and access to computers, fax machines and telephones.

Role Description:

WoodGreen Community Services is currently looking for an administrative assistant volunteer to assist staff at our Workforce Development office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist staff in contacting clients for appointments, workshop attendance and follow up purposes.

  • Assist staff to prepare and organize client files.

  • Provide clerical support duties including filing, faxing, photocopying, incoming and outgoing mail, bulletin board updating, room bookings, etc.

  • Assist in organizing job fairs and presentation for clients, prepares marketing material and perform data entry responsibilities.

  • Typing resumes

  • Participate in regular staff and unit meetings within the unit.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

    Qualifications: 

  • Excellent administrative skills.

  • Comfortable on the computer, familiar with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and data management systems.

  • Excellent customer service skills, friendly on the phone and comfortable making calls.

  • Detail oriented, organized and able to work independently.

  • Positive attitude, eager to learn and have a good command of spoken and written English.
