Volunteer Resident Engagement Assistant

Description

The City of Toronto, Senior Services and Long Term Care Division, is actively recruiting NOW for New Adult (18 +) Volunteers to assist cognitively impaired and physically frail residents within the nursing home to participate in a variety of on-site socio-recreational therapeutic programs.

Qualifications: Previous working experience in adult education, recreation or counselling would be an asset. Volunteer applicants with English and Eastern European language skills are especially welcome to apply.

Time Commitment: Must be able to commit your volunteer time for a minimum of 6 months with a vision and desire to continue in your volunteer role beyond that time.

Training: Training and on-going educational opportunities will be offered.

Health & Safety: Candidates must be willing and adhere to all Infection, Prevention and Control protocols, which includes on-going/bi-weekly Covid-19 swabbing procedures.
