Reception Volunteer

Description

We are looking for a volunteer receptionist trainee to assist in answering calls, customer service and clerical duties with a minimum 3-month commitment.

Responsibilities:
• Greet and assist visitors and clients in a friendly, welcoming and pleasant manner. Answer or redirect any inquiries to appropriate staff.
• Answer, record and transfer all incoming calls to appropriate staff and work departments providing basic information.
• Record and relay messages to staff in a timely manner
• Reply to reception e-mails
• Upkeep safety procedures by ensuring that all visitors, clients are signed in & out
• Keep reception area clean, organized, and presentable. Ensure patio is swept and clean. Make sure all plants are watered.
• Prepare and post notices, memos and flyers
• Assist the receptionist in making and keeping track of schedules; ensure all schedules are easily accessible
• Perform clerical duties including but not limited to: filling, photocopying, data entry and accept deliveries
• Respect confidentiality of service users, staff, and others who come to Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre and the Riverdale Hub

Requirements:
• Proficiency in MS Office, internet, and email is essential
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to multi-task and work independently
• Ability to interact positively with unique individuals of all ages, genders, religions, cultures, ethnicities, attitudes, beliefs, and other characteristics without discrimination
