Kidney Walk Special Event Volunteer – Orillia

Date: Sunday September 29, 2019

Walk Location: Tudhope Park, 500 Atherley Road, Orillia, Ontario, L3V 1P7

Time Details: 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

Description: The Kidney Foundation of Canada requires Special Event volunteers to support the Orillia Kidney Walk in the following areas:
• registration
• route marshaling/cheer crowd
• parking
• set-up/take-down
• food and beverage stations
• kid’s activities
• photography

Groups Served: Kidney patients, their families, renal practitioners and doctors

Training: Information with meeting spot and staff lead will be provided to all volunteers in advance of event day. Staff member on-site provides additional orientation and training during the event.

Skills Required: Friendly, enthusiastic and enjoys working with others. Must be able to work as part of a team. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Previous volunteer experience at a special event is an asset

Task Requirements: Carrying and lifting; Dexterity and agility; Walking and/or standing; Communication; Reading and Writing

Minimum Age: 13 years old

Required Number of Volunteers: 5-10

Suitable for: Groups of volunteers; Family; Students/Classes

Benefits: 40 hours Community Involvement; recognition letters of service provided; free parking; light refreshments (variety of snacks and drinks) provided to event day volunteers

Accessibility: Has accessible parking; Has accessible washroom
