Social Support Volunteer

St. Felix Centre, est. in 1993, is a non-profit community centre in downtown Toronto. We are dedicated to helping individuals, families, and children experiencing challenges such as poverty, abuse, homelessness, mental illness, and addiction. By supporting the emotional, social, cultural, economic, and spiritual needs of individuals, we strengthen the entire community. Major Objective: Greet guests, interact with them, provide social support and engage into a friendly conversation. Follow directions given by Social Support Worker to ensure safe environment for staff, volunteers and guests - Help to maintain a safe and respectful environment and advocate safety awareness - Provide feedback if there are any problems at the end of the day - Sign in and out to record volunteer hours.


Additional Information

Training is provided upon first scheduled shift. Ongoing training and coaching provided/available during shift.

2 Hours, 10:45 to 12:45 from Monday to Friday

Task requirements

Qualifications: - Sensitivity and understanding of people of all backgrounds - Communicate clearly and effectively orally - Able to work in high traffic area - Able to work in a team - First Aid certification an asset but not required.
